For my research topic I chose young voters. I am particularly referring to the fact that most young voters do not even vote. I wonder why people would neglect such an important power. I believe that young people are not aware of the influence they can have on local and national issues. It is very important that young voters get registered and cast their votes, especially with the upcoming election. Also if they choose not to vote they may come to regret it since presidents are only elected every four years. It's an opportunity any young person eligible of voting should not miss out on. Voting is not only a national issue but a local one too. County elections can also influence our lives and need to be voted on. The good thing about this issue is that it can be changed. The simplest way being to spread the awarness of the situation. Whether that be by word of mouth, blog, facebook, newspaper, etc. The point is that we can and need to change this problem.

Like a lot of the other young people today, I also have not really taken advantage of the right of being able to vote. I honestly do not even know a lot about the election besides the things I hear others talk about. Over the past few weeks I have had quite a few people tell me about the importance of registering to vote and how important it actually is to vote. I guess I never really cared enough about the issue or thought that maybe my one vote would even make a difference. These past few days I have been considering voting and getting involved with what is going on.
