I thought the "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" was a very interesting letter. I have never read any of Martin Luther King Jr's work so I was not quite sure what to expect. However, after reading the letter I was absolutely astounded by his writing prowess. I cannot even begin to express how impressed I was by his writing. He is probably the most eloquent person I know now. He used some great analogies in his letter. He was also very logicial in his statements. For example, he provided some amazing support to his arguments and acknowledged the argument of the other side. I thought the reference to the "boil" was incredible. He clearly defines his purpose and reasoning behind his actions. I honestly did not know too much about Dr. King, but after reading his letter I was in awe. Although it was a little long, I still enjoyed reading it because of his prophetic writing. I will forever have respect for the man and his work after better understanding what he was about.
